From the young Johann Abt, who at age 14 built his first race car from the remains of a DKW and went on to win over 300 races, to today’s three DTM titles and championship successes in Formula E — the racing spirit has driven ABT Sportsline for more than seven decades. Three Fronts, One Passion
DTM
The German Touring Car Championship
ABT Sportsline has been competing in the DTM since 2000. After 25 years with Audi, the team will return to the track in 2025 with factory support from Lamborghini Squadra Corse. ABT is the only team in DTM history to have won three consecutive championship titles (2007, 2008, and 2009). In 2002, as an independent privateer team, ABT defeated the factory teams of Mercedes-Benz and Opel—a moment that remains legendary in touring car racing.
Formula E
The Electric World Championship
ABT is one of the founding teams of the FIA Formula E World Championship and is among the most successful teams in the series. The team claimed the first victory in Formula E history on September 13, 2014, in Beijing. During the 2016–17 season, Lucas di Grassi became the drivers’ champion, and in 2017–18, ABT won the team title. After a one-year hiatus, the team returned to the championship in 2023 as “Lola Yamaha ABT.”
24h Nürburgring
The biggest motorcycle event in Germany
ABT Sportsline has been participating in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race since 1999—one of the most demanding endurance races in the world.

The Extreme E adventure begins: ABT kicks off with Cupra and Mattias Ekström. Whether it’s the DTM or Formula E—at ABT Sportsline, thrilling motorsports have played an important role in the company for many years.
ABT XGT
Road-legal GT race car
The ABT XGT is a unique project—a race car based on the Audi R8 LMS GT2, with street-legal registration. A limited series of 99 pcs.
